In Saint-Tropez, a meal is never just a meal: it is a long lunch with your feet in the sand, an aperitif watching the yachts come in, a dinner under the plane trees of Place des Lices. Here are the tables we recommend to our guests, moment by moment.

In the village

Le Café is a Tropezian classic on Place des Lices, where the regulars play pétanque in front of the terrace: the place for a simple, perfectly executed Provençal lunch. A few steps away, Pablo, from the team behind Indie Beach, brings a festive, sun-drenched spirit to the square, while Nao, also on Place des Lices, is our choice for a lively dinner among friends.

In the narrow streets of the old town, BanH-Hoi has long been a favourite for its Asian-inspired cuisine and intimate atmosphere. And for meat lovers, Beefbar brings its signature cuts and chic setting to Saint-Tropez.

On the port

Dining facing the yachts is a Saint-Tropez ritual. Le Quai offers a front-row seat on the harbour and its evening spectacle. For Italian cuisine in a festive atmosphere, we like Noto, and for a Japanese-Peruvian dinner that turns into a party, Gaïo. Close to the old port, La Petite Plage serves Mediterranean cuisine by the water, a stone’s throw from the village.

Lunch on the beach

The great Saint-Tropez lunch takes place on the beaches of Ramatuelle. Casa Amor, on the quieter side of the bay, is perfect for a long, elegant lunch. Indie Beach combines grilled fish and a bohemian atmosphere that becomes festive at sunset, while Cabane Bambou, on Pampelonne since 1967, remains a convivial institution. For a lunch that ends with dancing on the tables, Bagatelle is the obvious address.

Under the pines of Ramatuelle, Gigi serves homemade Italian cuisine by the pool, far from the bustle. And a little further, above Gigaro beach in La Croix-Valmer, Brigantine, the beach restaurant of Lily of the Valley, is worth the short drive.

Our advice

Book ahead. In July and August, the best tables, on the beach as in the village, are booked days in advance, especially for sunset and weekend lunches.

Think boat. Several beaches of Pampelonne offer a shuttle from the anchorage: arriving by sea avoids the traffic on the peninsula and makes the day even more memorable.
